You know... I still think the idea of making a sequal to Phantom of the Opera is probably the biggest travesty of musical theater....
It is quite possible that this man's voice and this song may just save the whole thing, regardless of the ridiculous plot....

Andrew Lloyd-Webber, apparently. And sadly, a lot of people were infected by his insanity.

(And it seems to just be the same story all over again, + 10 years and Christine's popped out one of Raoul's sproglets. Oh, and Coney Island.)

Basically, it is Andrew Lloyd Webber trying to foster up some money since his shows aren't doing so well as of late. Only two of his shows are still running; Phantom on Broadway and Cats in Tokyo. That's it. His last big endeavour of Evita and then Sound of Music both didn't do well and many, many new composers have come in as of late with great new shows.

He's trying to prove that he's not the hack that everyone thinks he is. The only problem being....he'll prolly prove just that.

Siera Borgess (Christine) is wonderful :)

I believe Phantom is still running in Vegas and in West End too? But agreed - all the bits I've heard from his musicals post Phantom have been pretty mehhh with the exception of Sunset Boulevard, but I think the story for that one being so dark made it less than appealing to a lot of the people who loved Cats and Phantom.

"Coney Island" period screams hack to me. The book was so horribly received that I can't believe he stuck with that storyline. -_-;

Well, I think his hands are kinda tied on that one since he's trying to do a "sequel". Baically, he's just trying to cash in on his cashcow of Phantom and make more money off a new property while he can.
