It's Yuletide!!

Hello, dear author! I'm so excited that we matched and I hope you have a great time Yuletiding for me! Please be assured that I am SUPER easy to please. All I want for Christmas is Kiefer. :3

Signup Summary:
AO3 name: Zoi no miko (zoi_no_miko)
Dark City - John, Daniel
Flatliners - Nelson, Dave
Young Guns - Josiah "Doc" Scurlock

HELL YEAH: Slash, Romance, smut, fluff, anything involving the requested characters furthering their relationship in some manner (romantic or friendly-like). Cracktastic crossovers and AUs. Epic!Plot is fun if that's your thing, but I'm happy just with relationship stuff or plotless fluffy moments in time. <3 Angst is awesome, UST-that-gets-resolved, domestic kink if it's in character, drunken shenanigans, Character explorations involving romance.... dirty, dirty explicit sex. PWPs are also completely ok. I am also okay with same-sex-same-generation incest or doppleganger-cest if that does it for you, which I guess could come up in a cracktastic crossover? I'm actually okay with A/B/O and knotting as long as it does not involve, mention or lead to Mpreg in any way. It's an interesting dynamic to explore.

NOPE NOPE NOPE: Mpreg, furry, het (unless it's genderswap, that can be fun, although double gender swap is better because lesbians!), pedo, scat, deathfic, completely unresolved angst. Use of the word "cum" (with that spelling), character assassination

1) Flatliners - Nelson Wright, David Labraccio

The interactions between these two characters totally made this movie, in my humble opinion. Best friends, friendly competition, maybe more? I love how they both seem to be the only ones who can effect the others stubborn nature. Slash preferred, gen is ok, but please don't pair either up with Rachel. Exploring how they first met or relations pre-movie would be fun, or angsting about relationships post-movie, or even just some fun bromance fic or school friends/rivals fic. Smut and/or PWP welcome, please no het.

(Also, if you've seen the "remake/reboot/sequel" by the time you start writing and feel inspired to weave it in somehow feel free (I can't believe Nelson would go by such a terrible fake name but I'm sure fic could provide a perfect fix/explanation!)

2) Dark City - John Murdoch, Daniel Schreber

Anything with these two being awesome will make me ridiculously happy. They're my OTP but I also really enjoy the few friend-fics I've read of them too. I'm engrossed in the idea that, with the way the movie ends, they'd need each other to keep going forward. The only two humans in the city truly aware of it's nature and history.
Genfic is fine but in that case I'd prefer no het/other romantic relationships involving these two.

My favorite thing in the world is discovering it again through the eyes of a new writer. Please feel free to screw around with canon at will if it suits the creative process, AUs are great too - anything from the "X tiny thing changed in canon" type AU to "completely different universe" AU - as long as these two characters are in tact, good and in some kind of positive relationship with each other (romance, new-discovered friendship, established friendship, partners-in-crime... anything!) <3 Any other characters and pairings from the movie are welcome but not required. I'm also a fan of Emma-Anna/May if it tickles your fancy to throw in some background lesbians.

3) Young Guns - Josiah "Doc" Scurlock

While I'm generally not a huge fan of the Western genre, Doc is just such a goddamn adorable little cinnamon roll that I'd love something of him for Yuletide. I ship him with both Dick and Chavez, but I'd also okay with him and his wife as long as it wasn't focused on their romance(or smut). Also A-ok with polyamory so don't feel the need to break them up if you wanna write him with one of the boys.

Secretly I would LOVE a Young Guns/Westworld crossover if that might be your thing, or any kind of fusion/au with a sci-fi fandom/world.

And if you're here to write me treats, bless your lovely little heart.

I like basically every fandom involving Kiefer Sutherland (though again, not big on het).

Crossover/AUs: I also have a weakness for amazeballs world building concepts like Westworld, Inception and Pacific Rim and some of my favorite TV shows are Person of Interest, Hannibal, White Collar, Black Sails, Agent Carter, Penny Dreadful, Firefly, Limitless, Primeval, Fringe, Altered Carbon, Sense8 and AMC's Humans. <3

ETA: Yuletide community initiatives:
I am okay with the following for any of my fandoms:
Interactive Fanfiction (Can you imagine how interesting this could be?)
Crossovers: between the fandoms above, any mainstream scifi with cool worldbuilding (though you might need to provide some context/worldbuilding explaination if I haven't seen it), and any other Kiefer Sutherland movie where he's not a murdering dick. Phone Booth & 24 are okay. :D
Yuleporn: YES.

“Not me,” Neal offers cheerfully when he arrives at Peter’s office to find him and a couple of suits gathered around an easel.

“It better not be you,” Peter retorts sounding more amused than annoyed, “These are agents Murdoch and Bumstead and they want your professional opinion on the painting.”

Neal glances at the handsome 30ish man with dark curly hair and brilliant green eyes and his older blond companion. Then he turns his attention to the canvas. Mark Gertler’s self-portrait, bearing a pointed resemblance to Agent Murdoch.

Neal studies it for a couple of minutes before reluctantly admitting “He’s really good. I almost thought it was the real deal.”

“Do you know who did it?” Agent Bumstead asks.

“If I had to guess, I’d say it’s a guy who’s referred to as Doctor,” Neal offers, “But this isn’t his usual style and last I heard he was operating out of Europe.”

“We think it is him, and we think the painting is a message,” Agent Murdoch tells him, “Rumor has it he’s gotten involved with Books’ gang.”

“Book? He’s got a nasty reputation. Most forgers avoid him and his people. He might pay well but he’s dangerous.” Neal tells him.

“Two weeks ago, Book’s right-hand man came in through Newark with this man in tow,” He lays down some gainy black and white photos taken from a security camera. They show a young blond man wearing glasses and a neat suit being let through the airport.

“So, you think that’s him?” Neal studies that photos thoughtfully, “What name was he travelling under.”

“Daniel Poe Schreber.”

Ahhhhhhhh~~ omg I love it. Poor Daniel getting messed up with the wrong individuals (he really just wants to enjoy forging beautiful paintings in peace, he'd never try to take advantage of anyone! ;) ) and then trying to send a message in a bottle to the pretty pretty agent Murdoch and his dashing partner.

Hopefully he never becomes their CI because poor Frank would have to deal with SO MUCH pining and UST lololol

Frank Bumstead watches his partner gaze longingly through the glass wall of the meeting room, towards the cube where their CI sits, reading through old case files. He drops his pen on the table and buries his head in his hands with a pained groan.

"What? Sorry! Ah - what?" John's attention snaps back to him, and Frank closes his eyes.

"Just fucking do it already," he growls from between grit teeth.

"Do... what?"

Frank glares up at him. "You know what. Who."

Under his gaze, John goes very white, then red, eyes wide. He opens his mouth, then closes it, then wets his lips, and if Frank wasn't so utterly and completely done with this whole matter he'd find it hilarious that John thought he'd been successfully hiding this from his partner. "I don't know what you're talking about."

"I'm not an idiot, Murdoch. You're not eating, you fall all over yourself every time he comes in the room, you're a mess. For the sake of your health and my goddamn sanity just tell him how you feel already."

John looks down at the table, and for a moment he looks so completely hopeless that Frank almost feels sorry for him. "You know very well that would get me fired and him sent back to jail."

"I know. But I'll...." Frank lifts a hand to rub his temple, stress headache pounding harder. "I'll cover for you, alright? So don't worry about it."

John looks - and there's no other word for it - gobsmacked. He looks out towards Daniel again, then back to Frank. "That goes against everything you stand for."

"Lawfully, maybe. Not morally, alright? Besides, if you don't do something I'm going to fucking kill you and then I'll go to jail."

Finally John cracks a smile. He turns his gaze back towards Daniel again, who works blissfully unaware of the conversation. "One condition."

"We get caught, I take the fall. You protect him, no matter what. Deal?"

"Jesus, John."

Frank sighs. But he's already damned himself. "Deal."

Aw, poor John pining away for his pretty CI, driving Frank (and likely everyone else) crazy. I had in mind that John and Daniel were always attracted to one another even when John was trying to arrest Daniel as a forger. Now that they're working together, the attraction is almost unbearable.

Then one of Daniel's underworld contacts, a pretty young man calling himself Leon, shows up and ends up helping our boys out and Frank is suddenly more sympathetic towards John.

“Who is this guy again?” Frank asks Daniel, eyeing the small bookshop doubtfully.

“He’s an information broker and a friend,” Daniel assures him, “If you need something or someone for a job, he’ll be happy to introduce you to someone who can provide it for a small fee. He knows everyone and everything that’s happening in New York and he’s willing to talk to you.” Daniel sounds genuinely amazed, “It will be well worth your time.”

“What’s his name?” Frank asks pausing to study the pile of old books in the window. The leather-bound volumes are a bit battered but in otherwise good shape. Not cheap but not antique either.

“He’s known as Mr. Hustle.”

“Wasn’t that Pete Rose?” Frank asks as Daniel urges him through the door.

“Pete Rose was Charlie Hustle.”

Frank can’t help but stare. This is Daniel’s informer friend? The man who knows everyone and everything about the New York underworld? He looks like he’s barely out of high school.

“Hello, darling.”

Frank stares as the young man turns Daniel’s hello hug into something a great deal more intimate. He’s beginning to understand why their CI didn’t want to bring John along to this meeting.

“You the Fed?” The young man asks, not taking his hand off Daniel’s ass.

“One of them,” Frank confirms, “I’m Agent Bumstead.”

“The guy who got back the Rousseau that got stolen from the Met.”

“That’s me.”

The man snorts and produces three mismatched mugs from under the counter. “I hope you like tea,” He tells Frank, dropping teabags into the mug and pouring water from an electric kettle.

“Tea is fine,” Frank tells him. “Thank you, Mr. Hustle.”

“Call me Leon,” The man tells him, “Or Charlie, or Pete if you’d rather. Mr. Hustle is my porno name.”

He ignores Daniel’s giggle and regards Frank seriously.

“You’re looking for the scum killed the moneybags and robbed the Arno Breker sculpture?”

“You know who did that?” Frank is suddenly serious. The billionaire owner had been a huge contributor to the Republican party and several politicians were putting pressure on the Bureau to solve it yesterday.

Leon, or whatever his name is, takes out a book and lays it on the counter. He flips open the cover revealing a post-it note attached to the page, with a name printed on it.

“Two weeks ago, he was asking for someone who could get him and a team into a penthouse with an Alpha Security system and a dedicated elevator.” Leon tells him, “This is a one-time deal, I’ll deny knowing anything about him, the killing or the robbery if you ask again.”

“How much for the book?” Daniel asks softly.

That must be how it works, Frank realizes. You ask Mr. Hustle to locate something for you, then he sells you a book with the intel you need.

“For you?” Leon considers thoughtfully as he slips it into a paper bag, “For you it’s gratis.”

He and Daniel both must look surprised because Leon adds, “I don’t want anything to do with murder. The death was planned just as much as the theft. The owner may have been scum but I don’t deal in death and he knows it. He broke the rules and I don’t tolerate that.”

“Thank you,” Daniel accepts the bag with a smile.

They all turn when the bell over the door rings to see a middle-aged man in a suit and glasses with a service dog pausing just inside the door.

“I’ll be right with you in one minute, Mr. Egret,” Leon calls over to the man. “See you around, Doc.”

“Come and have supper with me some time,” Daniel invites him, “I’ll show you the mural I’ve been painting.”

“Sure,” Leon smiles at Daniel before offering Frank his hand. “Nice to meet you Mr. Bumstead.”

“Thank you for the book,” Frank tells him, as they shake hands, “If you come across any others, you might let me know.”

Leon smiles.

“Louis, I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.”

HAROLDDDDD. :D :D :D *ahem*

Aw man, I LOVE self-assured information broker Leon! Sassy little tease. Frank's going to find himself driven absolutely _crazy_, isn't he? And more than likely set up on a double date or two, hehehe <3
Oct. 24th, 2018 12:05 am (UTC)
For some reason I suspect that Leon adores driving Frank absolutely crazy. <3

I couldn't resist adding Mr. Finch to the mix.

“Good Afternoon, Mr. Egret,” Leon is still debating with himself about how to handle this particular customer. “There are some books that meet your specifications on the table in the reading nook, would you like a cup of tea while you look them over?”

“That would be lovely, Thank you.” Harold cannot imagine how this young man got into a business like this, but he knows he’s lucky to have met him. It’s not that he couldn’t find these people by himself but having Leon vet them for him saved considerable time and effort.

He settles himself into a battered leather wingback and picks up the first book, a Tom Clancy with a garish cover. He finds the photograph with the information neatly written on the back and begins to read.

Leon finishes fixing the tea exactly the way Mr. Egret likes, makes up his own cup and hesitates. What will it hurt, he decides and picks up the tattered paperback along with the mugs and heads for the reading nook in the back.

Mr. Egret is frowning over the John le Carré, but he smiles and thanks Leon gratefully for the tea. Leon settles himself on the purple settee, sips his tea and watches Mr. Egret sort through the rest of the books.

They’re not bad guys, Leon tells himself. He knows what Mr. Egret needs and he was very careful about sorting through the files, providing only names for people that fit the older man’s requirements. Mr. Egret’s only problem should be deciding which of these five men to hire.

He reaches across the table and offers Mr. Egret the Ian Fleming.

“What’s this?” Harold is surprised. This is not how Leon normally operates.

“Call it a hunch,” Leon tells him, “I…well, I’m not unaware of your mission, sir. These other books, they’re okay but I have a feeling about this one.”

“I see,” He ought to have expected Leon to figure things out. The young man is too good at his job not to have seen through things. He accepts the book and opens the cover. This is the man Leon thinks could help him? “It’s rather worse for wear?” He offers finally.

“And dirty and needing some work,” Leon agrees, “But, I really think that if you’re willing to put in a little time and effort at restoration, you’ll find this is the book for you.

Harold considers. If he handles this right he’d have a muscle man who is grateful and dependent on him. His personal history would give him an incentive to protect the innocent and see justice done. Surely that is better than someone doing the work just for the money? It could work.

“I think I will take this one,” Harold holds up the battered paperback with John Reese’s photo tucked between the pages.

“I’ll ring it up, Mr. Egret.”

omg my feeeeeeeeeels. <3 I love Leon shopping for Harold's new boyfriend muscle. He's such a sweet good boy. <3 I'm sure Harold will be properly appreciative. <3
Oct. 27th, 2018 05:52 pm (UTC)
I have to confess, the first time, I threw Harold in just for fun and then when it mad you so happy, I had to take it just a little further. I couldn't resist the idea of Leon helping Harold find John. Leon pretends to be all cynical but he's really a softy inside and helping Harold save innocents makes him happy. <3
Oct. 27th, 2018 07:45 pm (UTC)
I'm so helplessly delighted by Harold. El spent like six months saying "You should watch this, you'll really like him" and then of course she was right and I felt dumb (but elated). XD

I think Leon has a very specific set of morals. They might not always match up with the law, but perhaps that's why he and Harold get on so well. ;)
Oct. 27th, 2018 09:58 pm (UTC)
Leon has some very specific morals that drive Frank crazy:

You can't pickpocket my suspect to get evidence for me.

How about I keep the money and the credit cards and leave the wallet where you might find it? You'd be doing a good deed, looking in it so you can return it to the owner.

Person of Interest was one of those shows that didn't look like it was going to be great from the ads but if you watched it, you were surprised and delighted by it.
Oct. 27th, 2018 10:05 pm (UTC)
LOL oh man poor Frank's gonna go so nuts. ;)

RIP POI ;_; Thank god Westworld is amazing and POI didn't have to end in vain. But it still needs more gays.
